Artist Statement

My artistic approach draws on the notion of the manoeuvre, a form of action art that involves the public directly in the emergence of an artwork. This approach is based on the creation of physical apparatuses that serve as intermediaries and, through their contact with the public, elicit subjective experiences that I record in the form of testimonials. These stories then become the core of the work and allow me to develop projects/installations that address oral transmission, alterity and intersubjectivity.

The foundation of my practice is therefore rooted in the intangible heritage generated by human experience. This interest stems from the idea that no two individuals can ever perceive a given experience in the same way. In light of this infinite diversity of viewpoints, I attach great importance to each person's subjectivity, because I believe that every perspective carries a truth that is worth hearing and experiencing. In this sense, I am interested in the intersections of these individual experiences, based on the idea that new truths emerge when they are shared.

Thus, echoing Geneviève Thibault's writings on Brûlures Abstraites (Espace art actuel), I consider the exhibition context to be a porous space that provides an opportunity to encounter the other’s subjectivity. I see this tendency towards immateriality as a discreet resistance to productivism, while simultaneously acting as an attempt to repair the erosion of relationships in an individualised world.
